He beat 3 other contenders for title in the exciting tie break play off at Kompleks Wilayah yesterday. Other 3 players in playoff is last year defend champion Edward Lee, Abdullah Che Hassan and Lim Zhuo Ren.

Ian Udani is the lucky winner of Batu Gajah Open although losing to Nur Ilhamuddin Shaik Ali in the fourth round. Ilhamuddin have a clear chances to retain the title that he won last year when Zarul Shafiq offer him draw in the last round ,rejecting the offer and continue playing and lost the game.Anthony Liong finished second also 6 pointsfollowed by Zarul Shafiq also six points.
